How and when did you decide you were trying for second?
I am currently one year postpartum. I always had in my mind I would have two children, but after having the first, doubt quickly set in. Early postpartum was much worse than I expected, and I was exhausted pretty much until the baby started sleeping through the night. Of course, bub is the light of my life and I wouldn't change a thing. I also feel like I'm thriving for the most part now. But, I do still struggle with some things that I can't do. In some ways I feel like my life is on pause until my toddler is no longer a danger to themselves. And having a second would prolong that pause. But I know if I zoom out, it's only a short amount of time.
My mother's group started talking about trying for a second when their babies were still a newborn. And I remember thinking that was insane, why would anyone do this again? So I know some people have no problem just popping out a second right after the first, but I'm curious if anyone else was a fence sitter, and when did you decide yes or no to another child?
