Highschool In hawaii

Hello!! I’m a 17-year-old high school student trying to spend my senior year in Hawaii. My goal is to establish residency so I can attend the University of Hawaii at Mānoa with in-state tuition.

I do have family connections there (my non-biological grandpa lives on the island and I have been going the whole summer for years) Unfortunately, I’m not able to stay with him since his rooms are already rented out.

I’m trying to figure out what my options are for housing whether that’s finding a host family, renting a room with a parent co-sign, or any other realistic setup for someone my age. Preferably not through a private school program where it is insanely expensive. I have a 4.50 GPA and if there are any scholarships related to costs aswell.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or know how I could go about this? Are there specific programs, websites, or groups I should look into? I’m responsible, focused on school, and would be working with my parent/guardian on anything official.
