How to make a "Well rounded" 500 point list in 3rd edition?

So i exclusively play tau empire in 3rd, problem is i feel most of my lists lean too heavy into things, if i take crisis suits that's a good 200 points already for 3 models, if i take pathfinders then thats 200+ because they must take their devilfish. i also only happen to own 1, 10 man squad of firewarriors.
