How to avoid unwanted attention at new gym
So I recently switched gyms from my luxury gym to the cheap gym one block from my house (planet fitness). Finances changed, can’t afford it. I went to the other gym for years with no one ever saying a word to me. I’ve conditioned myself to prevent male attention everywhere by just constantly having a resting bitch face and avoiding eye contact and it has worked.
However, in this new gym, I have only gone twice and both times I have had a different man go out of his way to use a machine next to me, then gesture to me to take off my headphones while I was doing sets on the machine next to him so he can compliment my outfit. I was wearing matching sets both times with about an inch of my stomach showing. I said thanks and put my headphones back in but felt uncomfortable finishing my workout and left. I know this doesn’t warrant me saying anything to staff because they’re not making sexual comments, they were also like 22 years old and probably don’t know any better, but should I not wear matching sets anymore? I don’t like the attention from them but I have so many matching sets because working out is my only hobby and I wear this and scrubs. Or should I just work on not letting it get to me? I am also going through a breakup so I’m kind of vulnerable right now. Thanks for the advice!
