I am moving

Hey all.

I have a question. I live in Michigan. I had a jury duty summons last week, but never got the notice to appear, only the letter that I failed to show a week later. They auto deferred me to a date in June when I am out of town on vacation. I move out of state about 2 weeks after that.

I wrote to the jury summons office and they granted me a deferral. I was hoping to move up my June jury date and still fulfill my civic duty, but they said I could only push it back to dates in July and August.

Therefore, I have an idea to push my jury duty date back to August, and then a few weeks before, tell them that I moved and am out of jurisdiction.

This way I get out of it entirely. Would there be any consequences to doing that?
