Playing Fallout DND: What are some colorful ways to die?

I haven't played Fallout but I've been invited to a campaign anyway!

I want to play an old woman who has outlived a truly ridiculous number of husbands who died in the wastes. I need big "trauma dump grandma" energy. She's just going to nonchalantly mention horrible tragedies every now and again. 90% won't be plot relevant or even come up more than once. I just want to be the most authentic wasteland Meemaw I can be.

So! Help me out. What happened to Meemaw's string of husbands?
