Random idea sold listings management

Someone posted the other day about Poshmark encouraging refreshing of old listings, and a lightbulb went off today with something I'm going to try- I am going to completely update a "sold on another platform" listing with a whole different item, photos category and all, instead of posting a new listing, to see what happens. I have probably 50 or 75 items I have manually marked as sold and increased the price on that I would really like to clean up instead of deleting and risking a ban. Think it will work?
