Noob seeking PC building/buying advice

Question

I'm looking to finally get an all new PC for the first time since the mid 2000s. I don't know how to compare hardware anymore. It used to seem that each manufacturer had one series of processor or video card and the higher the number on it, the better it was. Now I have no clue what's better.

I'm trying to work within a budget of $1500CDN but could max out at $1800 all in. Almost every prebuilt PC I look at in my range has an i5 14400F and a RTX 5060, which are good enough for me. This one seems like good value:

If I do build one, I have all the hard drives I need and a 750 watt power supply.

TLDR: Better off to build or buy on a budget?
