Used a VIN check EU site before buying my car in Poland...found 80k hidden km
So I was looking at a 2017 Skoda Octavia in Warsaw. Private seller, decent price, car looked clean inside and out. Guy seemed normal, had all the papers ready.
Something felt off about the price though. A bit too good. My Polish isn't great so I couldn't really grill him on the history.
Before I went to see it I ran the VIN through https://vincheckeu.com.
Report came back in a few minutes. Seller was claiming 95,000 km. Inspection records showed 178,000 km from two years prior.
Didn't even bother going to see it. Just moved on.
Found another one a week later, ran the same check, came back clean. Bought it, no issues.
Genuinely the best €15 I spent during the whole process. Wish I knew about it years ago.
