Can any Canadians help me with personal comments?

My class is currently working on the importance of Canada and the relationships that our countries have with each other. My group specifically is working on the tensions of our countries and how, in the past, they have brought us closer together, whereas now they seem to be pulling us apart. We wanted to reach out to real Canadians to see what you thought! It can be very one-sided, only thinking about how we see Canada, and very helpful to hear what it is like from the perspective of someone who is from Canada and is coming to the United States. Attached are some questions we are specifically interested in asking. We would love to hear your thoughts. You can answer whatever you feel comfortable with. Thank you!

1. How did you see the U.S. before coming here, and how has it changed?

2. What do you think about the current tensions between the U.S. and Canada?

3. Why do you think people do not want to travel to the U.S.?

These may seem like obvious answers but I just think it would be very helpful to hear from a real Canadian in these topics instead of someone speaking for them.
