Career death
Hey everyone. Context for this post; I have worked for a school district for 2 years now. In that time frame I had worked my way up all the way to a morning manager of an elementary school. I was struggling with my mental health at the time and decided to step down to a nightshift full time custodian at a high school, which is 2 positions below where I was. I was suicidal at the time and actually spent 2 days at the hospital because of the stress. Anyways, the new school I am at isn’t bad but I have a toxic boss and I’m struggling with the schedule. I’ve applied for other night positions that are earlier in the day at different schools because my district doesn’t do transfers. So far I’ve applied for 3 schools within the span of 4 months whenever positions open and haven’t had a single call for an interview. I am afraid that me stepping down has a lot to do with the lack of interviews. I feel like a lepor now. Did I just kill my chances of ever moving schools and my custodial career?
