How much does a pay-it-yourself ASV cost?

I tried about 20 years ago and I just woke up the next day exhausted. I've been thinking about trying again, a few months ago I asked for a referral, they insisted I do another sleep study (at least this time it was a take home study).

Then they said next step is you need a CPAP, but they couldn't tell me how much it was going to cost me for the CPAP.

I've been wondering about just getting one myself. I was leaning towards an AutoPAP (they were a new thing back when I last tried; the last one I tried was a BiPAP) but now I'm hearing about ASVs, which seem like they might be a better option.

But it sounds like I'll have an uphill battle getting an ASV from the insurance, and they can't even tell me how much a regular CPAP will cost me with copays and etc. What does it cost to get an ASV on your own dime?
