I 36F was asked by my spouse 35M something about dishes

How do you handle dishes in this scenario?

If I finish eating and the dishwasher is running, I’m not supposed to leave dirty dishes in sink. They need to be rinsed so that they don’t get hard while the dishwasher runs

I totally understand this. Nobody likes scrubbing hard food off a bowl. Anyway he asked me about this and was pretty upset that I had left some sauce in a bowl in the sink while the dishwasher was running

We already have the rule no dishes in sink. Like they go straight to rinse and dishwasher.

This is just for when dishwasher is running when you finish eating

Just wondering what other people do in this type of scenario?
