What bars should I go to

My friend is coming to Madison on Friday and we are going to go out to the bars. We are post college and wanting to experience a little bit of nightlife but nothing too college crazy. What bars would you recommend? For reference, I am a woman and he’s a male we’re both 23 and recently single (we do not like each other in that way). We are both engineers so too awkward to dance, but we both like live music.
