Calculating Return of Capital for ZDB (BMO Discount Bond Fund) and other bond funds
I am referencing this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/PersonalFinanceCanada/comments/ocewh4/distributions_for_zdb_bond_etf/
Please read that post to get the background to my question.
Like r/bens00 posted there, I am also tracking the adjusted cost base for ZDB in my margin account. I'm following the excellent guide from Justin Bender and Ben Bortolotti on how to this. I've ran into two issues. The first is an Excel issue, but the second... I'm not sure how we would solve it.

For tax years 2024 and prior, CDS provides the T3 tax breakdowns in an Excel spreadsheet. In the referenced post, it was discovered that the "Calculation Method" dropdown must be changed from PERCENT to RATE. When I do this the values don't update. The ROCs remain the weirdly high number that r/bens00 reported, which is a percent, not a rate. I suspect something in Excel isn't recalculating something and I'm not sure how to force it to recalculate.

For Tax years 2025 and later, CDS now provides these same breakdowns in what-looks-to-be a pdf version of the same Excel sheet. Because it's a pdf, we are not able to change the "Calculation Method" dropdown.
The answer to both problems seems to be: How do we calculate the ROC manually from the values given?
