My partner and I are thinking of getting married. Any insights into our specific situation?

I (28F) am on an H1B work visa and my partner (33F) is an American citizen born here. I was wondering if anyone had any insights into how that will legally affect each of us?

On paper, what are some things (financial or otherwise) that my partner would be liable for as a us citizen marrying a foreign national and then applying for GC? Example if I commit a crime or get fired? Lol don’t think this will come into play but still would like to be informed!

I earn more than her by over $17K annually - although she recently got her license and will be opening her own practice so chances are she will probs surpass my income in 5-6 years. She also has $60K in student debt. How will this affect my financial picture? I have about $1K in total debt and but will most likely have to get a loan for lawyer fees.

Is she required to have a certain income to show that she can “support me” if I also have a job and am employeed?

Any other suggestions for things to research and look into are very welcome!
