Yokosuka Billets at OCS

I'm going to OCS for SWO in about three months and looking for advice on billet selection, specifically for Yokosuka.

Physically, I can max pushups and plank, but my 1.5 mile run is still around 10:30, which I think is about average. I'm currently working to bring my time down before I ship. Academics aren't really a concern for me, I have time to prepare now and plan on staying disciplined at OCS. Inspections are a little worrying, but I already have a basic understanding of what's expected of me.

I want to get stationed in Yokosuka for two reasons: career and family. Faster operational tempo and faster quals would be extremely beneficial for my career. My dad, step mom, and sister live an hour away by train, so it's actually more practical for me than CONUS.

To my understanding, Yokosuka is pretty competitive and timing + availability matter a lot. What I'm trying to figure out is how competitive it actually is. I've been told that being top 25% of my class would "almost guarantee" a spot for me. I've also been told top 10% would give me a "good chance".

For those of you who've gone through OCS recently:

  1. How often do Yokosuka billets show up?
  2. What class ranking did people who chose Japan usually fall into?
  3. How much does PFA matter compared to academics and inspections?
  4. Any strategies I could use to improve my chances?
  5. How much does timing and number of SWOs in my class impact my chances?
