My skin would react to everything
As someone who has rosacea and acne-prone skin, I’ve always felt like I didn’t quite fit into the skincare world.
Most products are either made for acne… or for sensitive skin.
Rarely both.
If I used acne products, my rosacea would flare up.
If I used sensitive skin products, my acne wouldn’t improve.
So I was constantly stuck in this cycle: • Try acne product → skin burns or turns red
• Switch to gentle product → acne comes back
• Try again → barrier gets worse
It honestly felt like sensitive skin users are expected to just "manage" their skin instead of actually improving it.
Another thing I noticed — sensitive skin doesn’t always react immediately.
Sometimes it’s:
Tiny bumps after a few days
Flushing without any reason
Sudden dryness
Skin feeling hot or tight
And once your barrier is compromised, even water can sting.
That’s what made me realise — sensitive skin users don’t just need gentle skincare…
They need thoughtfully formulated skincare that actually works without triggering reactions.
This is also one of the reasons I started working on Skindulge.
Not because sensitive skin is the only focus — but because I wanted to create products keeping sensitive, reactive skin in consideration from day one.
Especially for people like me — acne warriors dealing with rosacea and easily irritated skin.
I still test products very cautiously, and I know many sensitive skin users do the same.
Trying new skincare still feels like a risk.
Curious to know —
If you have sensitive or reactive skin:
What’s harder for you? • Finding acne products that don’t irritate
• Finding gentle products that actually work
• Fear of trying new products
• Random unexpected flare-ups
Would love to hear your experience.
