Why is the PC cursor appearing after short timeout? (and won't go away until I close Starfield and relaunch entirely)

Has anyone else noticed since the update that the PC cursor keep popping up if you walk away for 5 minutes? I looked up how to remove it and tried a couple of their suggestions, but nothing works so far. it seems to have something to do with the "windowed borderless" setting? I have no idea, I found the exact problem going back three years with no resolution.
