Labrador limping on back leg
Hi!
This is Psalm. A couple months ago, she ran away from home for about 4 hours. When she came back, she was holding her back leg up. I could tell it was bothering her at the time, but it didn’t seem severe enough to rush to the vet. I checked it by squeezing, rubbing, and gently moving it, and she didn’t react like she was in pain.
I put her on crate rest for 2 weeks and started giving her fish oil. Fast forward to now—she is completely herself. She runs (I try to limit it, but she’s a lab!), plays fetch, and eats and drinks normally. The only thing is that she still occasionally holds that leg up. She is able to put weight on it and often does, but then will lift it again.
I recently started her on Cosequin this week to see if that helps more than the fish oil alone.
I just wanted to get an opinion on what this might be or if there’s anything else I should be doing besides the vet which I will do if absolutely necessary.
