Fat guy with a few options
Im an avid fly fisher who wants a kayak that can handle some rapids (nothing crazy), but I also want to kayak with my friend who is really into floating and camping along the river. He uses a Lifetime and dry bags for gear but he’s also probably 100 lbs lighter than me. I fluctuate weight a lot but to be safe let’s say on my worst day in my heaviest clothes/boots I’m 300lbs. My gear with fishing and light camping supplies is probably less than 30 but let’s just call it 335 when including beer.
Near me are the following yaks:
Ascend H12 for $400
Lifetime Tamarack 10 ft $200
WS Tarpon 120 for $550
Lifetime Kokanee 2 person for $350
My other option is to wait and splurge on something bigger that could fit my wife and kid but is still manageable solo. Would mainly use it on slower rivers.
Thanks for your input
