Is star citizen a game to come back to in a long time since 2 years ago. Ugh I miss the game.

I haven’t played the game in about 2 years. What has changed and what is currently going on in the development of this big space sim. I wanna know for sure if I’m able to get back into it again. Base building? Full on AI crews? Huge optimizations? Huge improvements to gameplay. New pyro developments? Another region to explore?. I need to sure because I miss the game!? Btw this isn’t an easily answered question because I know for a fact that many things could’ve changed while I was gone.
