Brass or hardened steel

Question

Hi everyone,

Since I switched to a quick swap hardened steel nozzle, my prints just don’t look as good as before with the brass nozzle. It’s probably a matter of doing proper calibration and working out the settings, but I’ve done my fair share of that with not enough result. Someone told me that brass is more forgiving, but I can’t really find anything proper on this.

What is your opinion? I only print with PLA and realistically I don’t need quick swap because I never swap nozzle sizes anyways, it just sounded easy and fancy.

Is it worth spending a lot of time calibrating this nozzle, or is it better to switch hot ends again and use the brass nozzle? I just want to do it right before I spend a lot (more) time on it.
