Does Positional Excellence get retained after RTTK upgrades?

I have a Positional Excellence Evo expiring in 2 days and my preference is to put it on RTTK Tchoumeni or possibly Fantasy Cancelo as all my other starting cards have chem boosts already.

However, if Madrid get a result next week he would be upgraded and I don't want this to 'erase' the positional excellence. Similarly if Barca win the league, Cancelo would get upgraded.

Do they just get upgraded and retain the chem boosts?
