(_delta) or (delta)?

I don't know if this is a versioning issue

Whenever I see a tutorial, everyone says "func physics_process(delta):", and when I try to copy it into my code, an error appears saying that "(delta)" is never used in physics_process, and if this is intentional, the error message asks me to change delta to (_delta)

They don't mention this in any of the tutorials Or guide
