The Story of "Not Being Enough"

I was 31 when I felt like I was officially "falling apart". I was exhausted, my career felt like it was hitting a wall, and my body? It felt like a stranger. I remember trying to force myself back into a running routine because that’s what "healthy" people do, right? But five minutes in, my knees would start screaming. I’d limp home, sit on the kitchen floor, and cry because I couldn’t even do the basics anymore. I thought the answer was to just "push harder," but I was actually just digging a deeper hole for my metabolism and my mental health. It took a massive burnout to finally realize that my body wasn't failing me—I was failing to listen to it. In our 30s and 40s, we can’t treat our bodies like we did at 21. We aren't math equations; we are biological systems that respond to stress, hormones, and rhythm. If you’re in that place right now where everything feels heavy and your "old ways" of staying fit are just causing you pain, please stop punishing yourself. You don’t need more "grind." You need a different map—one that prioritizes your internal balance over external sweat. You aren't broken; you're just transitioning into a season that requires more grace and a lot less cardio. Take a breath, stop the run, and start listening to what your body is actually asking for.
