[F.P. Journe Vagabondage II] Why doesn’t the Vagabondage II get talked about more?
After researching the F.P. Journe Vagabondage II for some time now, I find it to be one of the most underrated pieces of Journe’s work.
What really stood out to me was that the digital hour display jumps to each hour at the same time as an ever-changing minutes disk. It operates as a mechanical timepiece, while at the same time it has a digital nature, which is very hard to find in today’s world.
The case of the Vagabondage II is shaped as a tortue and offers a completely different watch presence than other Journe pieces, which tend to be round.
Here are my thoughts:
Does not receive the same level of attention as Chronomètre Bleu or Resonance
Limited number produced
The design is well beyond the curve today
What do other people think of this piece? Is it going to be a collector’s grail in the future? Or is this piece going to be limited to a niche market?
