The article in the Harvard Business Review explores the ethical dilemma facing major tech corporations and their inability to reconcile between their professed values regarding what can be considered "ethical" and how things really go down in the company's operation. Rather than dwelling on the issue of improper use of data, this article points out how difficult it is for companies to find a balance between, external demands and parties holding them accountable ethically; to their internal priorities, such as making money and increasing efficiency. Although this ties in with Waldman's notion of the privacy paradox, the article takes the conversation further to point out that ethical problems cannot simply be attributed to misleading interfaces but also structural issues at companies. Employees are often unable to push for ethics due to the structure of the corporation itself.
