ST a good sleeper?

6 - 12 months

Hi all - I’m looking for success or stories or maybe just a little confidence as I consider sleep training my 6 month old who is already a good sleeper. I guess I’m afraid that I’ll make him a “bad sleeper” by doing it … but my goal with it is to make him fully independent.

Right now he’s usually a 2.25/2.5/2.5/2.75-3 and sleeps 10.5-11 hours at night. His naps are usually 1.5 hrs, 1 hour and then anywhere from 15-30 minutes. Always linger around 2.75-3 hrs of day sleep. Bedtime 730-8.

For naps, he’s alone in his crib but I’ll stick around until he’s asleep in case the paci falls out. If paci falls out during nap he’s fine. At night, we have a solid routine and he goes down the same way as the nap. Sometimes replacing paci but then out for the night with one wake up to feed (4am) and back down quickly. I think he’ll be fine without that feed.

So as you can see he’s a good sleeper … but I guess I’ve convinced myself I need to get away from replacing the paci at the beginning of the night and I want to drop that feed.

Any thoughts? Experiences? Can I be successful if I just replace the paci for bedtime and then do a Ferber type approach for any other wake ups?
