Is AI in intake management actually making a difference, or just adding complexity?

I’ve been seeing more tools positioning AI as a way to streamline intake management things like auto-classifying requests, routing tickets, or even predicting priorities.
But in reality, most teams I’ve worked with still rely heavily on manual triaging or basic workflows.
Feels like AI should reduce back-and-forth and improve request quality, but I’m not sure how well it’s actually working in practice.
Are you seeing real efficiency gains with AI-powered intake systems, or is it still mostly early-stage experimentation?
