Bass cutting out after update?

I was excited to see that they added a full equalizer to the sound setup. But after playing with it, when I turned the equalizer off it killed all of the bass response on the speakers and nothing will bring it back. Has anyone else run into this? It strikes me as an insane reason to go in for a manual software update but I’m not sure what other option I have.
