ok kind of rant

Spoiler

i just finished the book, and i’m honestly disappointed :( i’m gonna paste my review over and rant more

disappointing ! the whole book felt like fanservice, which, let’s be real, this whole spinoff is, but whatever. i fucking HAAAATE warner omfg. 1, someone needs to humble the fuck out of this man. shooting your brother because he called you a dick??? get a grip my god. we barely got anywhere with james + rosabelle too, when, you know… it’s *their* book… warner’s chapters were irrelevant and unnecessary. why is juliette reduced to being a pregnant lady who’s married to warner??? this is the same girl who could kill everyone in an instant btw. she honestly didn’t even have any relevance to be in this book. and aaron barely referring to her by her name and instead saying ‘my wife’ 24/7??? WE GET IT!!!! honestly feels gross and objectifying, but whateeeever. love rosa and james, loved kenji and nazeera. wish we got more of adam + alia, and i hate the way it’s written as if the two brothers aren’t close. tiktok warner stans are gonna be MAD about this one !

i just think it could’ve been SO much better and it… wasn’t. the ending was so so lackluster personally too, it felt like there was meant to be another chapter or whatever, and absolutely didn’t feel like a cliffhanger. now, i love majority of these characters (except warner….) which is why i keep reading, but even then, it’s so disappointing when this was one of my most anticipated reads :(

juliette literally doing nothing but sitting there pissed me off too because wdym this girl who is SO powerful is nothing but aaron warner’s wife and a pregnant woman. i already hate the way in imagine me they get married, as to me it honestly gives a bad message to younger girls specifically, but i also don’t like when characters who are rather young end their stories with marriage as if that’s the be all end all of things.

i really hope this made sense lmfao
