Howdy,

I was looking for some advice. Basically, a while back I dropped my 2DS XL and broke the top screen, I looked online and it seemed like replacing the screen would be easy enough. I changed a DS shell a couple of times back in the day and apart from the pesky L and R button springs, it wasn't too difficult. This gave me the false courage that I could replace the 2DS XL screen

I purchased a new screen from Ali Express and fired up a video and had all my tools and I was ready to rock and roll. To say this did not go to plan is an understatement! I heated up the glued on pad or whatever you want to call it on the back, but clearly I did not heat it enough and I was too heavy handed with it and CRACK it snapped.

I did manage to put the new screen on, but I must have messed up somewhere as it is super dull and it has a weird, almost wavey effect to it when you move the 2DS. All the buttons work, the wi fi works, the speakers and two circle pads work.

This was way above my skill set, so I am thinking about just paying someone to do a shell swap and put a new screen in. I found a couple of people on eBay UK that say they offer repair services, but I have not heard back.

any UK 3DS fans know or any good places I can send it too and roughly how much I am looking at

Thanks for any advice, this happened right after I got hooked on Pokémon Art Academy too! Speaking of which we need a new one of these on the Switch 2!

check my pics for the absolute mess I made of this repair 😭😭
