A5 X screen issue - display suddenly darker in sections with white bands (no damage)

I've seen similar posts with variations of banding/stripes, but no solid diagnosis or fix so adding mine here.

My A5X has suddenly developed a weird display issue that I am so far unable to correct by manual refresh or restarts. Screen is fully responsive to pen and touch but visually it's cooked.

For context:

• The device lives on my desk, no drops or pressure damage that I am aware of
• Charged it yesterday from low battery (screen was normal)
• Opened it today and it looked like this
• Pattern does not match previous notes/documents
• Chauvet 2.24.37
• 2022 model

Tried so far:

• Opening different notes/files
• Manual refresh
• Turning off and on/restarts

Unfortunately the banding is persistent through all files + screensaver + on/off state

Haven't tried:

• Factory reset (yet)

Questions:

• Is anyone able to confirm if this is a hardware/software issue?

• Does it get worse or stay stable?

• Any chance of a DIY fix?

• Any hopes to fix outside of warranty?

I’m pretty attached to this thing and use it almost daily, so keen to avoid replacing it if possible (even though it’s out of warranty).

I’ve contacted support via email and I’ll update this post with whatever the resolution ends up being in case anyone else experiences the same issue.
