[Question] Did I do a blunder after my second year?

I am currently in my third year and during second year I was too optimistic about placements and internships. I saw many people doing unpaid internships at pes and thought stuff like I still have two more years, whats the hurry? I will do in third year or worst case in eighth sem, but now reality is hitting hard, from few days ago we are getting internship mails and most of the seats are reserved for fourth sem students and few for sixth sem, i barely have any proper projects and not really great with respect to dsa and my cgpa is above 7 and more over i cant even skill up now for the next 1.5 months because of esa. The job market is getting worse every month. Could seniors who were in a similar state share their experience what they did right. Also how hard is it now to get internship at pes?
