River Saraswati watched Nar and Narayan for thousands of years. She remembered everything. And she carries it still, somewhere beneath the earth

There is a question no one asks.

Not where the Saraswati went. Geologists have answered that she flows underground still, beneath the earth, invisible but present.

The question no one asks is what did she see, before she went?

I have stood at Badrinath. I have heard the Alaknanda. And I kept thinking about a river that witnessed everything, the battles, the sacrifices, the silence between two beings who shared one soul, and carried all of it, alone, for thousands of years.

In our Itihasa, Saraswati is not just water. She is the space between thought and expression. The interval where the soul searches for itself.

Nar and Narayan fought the same battle for thousands of years near her banks. One fought. One meditated. One died. The other revived him. Then they switched. Saraswati watched every single time. She never looked away.

What does that do to a witness?

I have been sitting with this question for years. It became the spine of everything I am writing.

The novel is called EKANSH. Saraswati narrates it. She has been watching since the beginning. She remembers everything.

And she is still trying to understand what she saw.
