Health science practicum

Can anyone who’s done the practicum tell me what to do. I got my placement today and it’s nothing that I ranked. On top of it, I applied for basically the same position at the same place last year for a job and it just didn’t vibe. I think they wanted to move on to the next steps but I declined. Is it okay to email the instructor and tell her this or does it look bad/complainy. Could I just drop the course and take it in the spring or does that look bad too?
