Am I wrong for thinking this?

rant/vent

I know not everybody’s homeschooling experience is the same.

But I feel now that I’m older. I’m understanding why I was homeschooled.

1:I believe it was hard on my mom and some trauma, she was facing and she really wasn’t sure how or kinda gave up. And for a while was unschooled.

2: sometime after I did online. but I never did state testing like each year. You’re supposed to do that in your state. to see what placement your child is at. (I think it’s something called the California state testing)

But to my point, I really wanted to go to school but am now understanding that school age Americans are taught wrongful and harmful things.

1: the pledge of allegiance (and if you’re in Texas, it’s worse)

2: The bullying, paying for food, sitting in a chair for hours. The school shooting, other students smuggling contraband(like drugs, guns knife) And the whole school system “leave no child behind”

3:The wrongful teaching of history. The constant lies (Spain, settlers finding what they called the “New world” and just glancing over the genocide of the Atlantic slave trade. But going into full detail for the genocide of european Jews. As well as being known as the “ melting pot” And just the many lies that it’s built on and continuing. And that’s very telling or a dog whistle.

4: The whole indoctrination of Christianity/Judaism (which I guess can be true for me as well since I was raised on Christian beliefs but it wasn’t strict. I think also I had a lot of unsupervised access to Internet as well as dealing with being abused and COCSA)

So am I wrong to think that maybe homeschooling it self wasn’t wrong but the people around me failed me?

I do agree you definitely need a degree for it. Before you’re able to teach others. As well as it has to be separated from religion? And teach the truth as well as being consistent. Having co-ops and being able to adventure and many different curriculums for your child.

Also, I’d love to hear other people‘s homeschool experience. Since I know each one is different and I’d love to understand and gain different perspectives.

I think as well I might just be trying to reflect so that I don’t blame the people that failed me.. idk why. I still love and care for my mom but I just wish she would’ve listened to me when I asked to be in school or I felt like it was hard to ask for help without feeling dumb or thinking, she already thinks I know this when I didn’t.
