Engine water pump replacement- any chance PZEV warranty will save me?
My 2014 Chevy Volt (149k) has unfortunately sprung a very bad coolant leak, like leaving puddles everywhere it goes. It has been determined to be a leaking engine water pump/thermostat , that the dealer has quoted me $1600 to fix it. I live in CA/the car was purchased here so I have the 15/150,000 mile pzev/emission system warranty. I realize the engine water pump is not technically part of the emission system but the amount it is leaking will likely have it fail smog (depending on the shop and so I have been told).
Any shot that I will be able to get it covered under PZEV or am I simply in the denial (delusional) phase of my grief? Looking for opinions as I have had to go to war with a dealership to have the warranty honored before and want to see if it’s even worth it (or even reasonable) this time….
