Anyone discover hydrosalpinx / PID late in the process?
Hey all! Just wondering if anyone here has discovered hydrosalpinx or other tubal issues late in the process. How did you find out? Did you have symptoms/pain? What was the treatment and timeline?
For context, I’ve done five (5!!!) FETs of 7 blastocysts. No LC.
* First 4 FETs of untested embryos: 8w MC, CP (beta was 20), CP (beta was 5), MC (9w, confirmed trisomy 16)
* Recent FET of 5AB euploid: CP (beta was 3)
We don’t think all of our untested FETs were aneuploid because we just did another retrieval and got 10/11 euploid!
I am now suspecting it could maybe be a tubal issue because I was looking at “what we did differently” for my two later miscarriages and the only thing I could think of was that an SIS was done within 2 months prior.
My clinic only does SIS, which have been clear (tubes patent) for me, but never HSG. So I’m starting to wonder if I should go elsewhere to get an HSG and really get a look at those tubes. I’m in Canada so it’s difficult with wait lists but willing to pay privately.
Extra note; I also reviewed some emerg room ultrasounds from 2023/2024, where I went in twice for right-side ovary pain. They investigated me for kidney stones and appendicitis and couldn’t find anything. I’m realizing now that my right ovary pain is NOT normal (lbeing hospitalized twice??) and looking at the ultrasound photos I can see a black hole of fluid all around that right ovary. Of course, the ER docs didn’t comment on the ovary at all. But to me this could be suggestive that the tube is messsed up. I’ve forwarded these to my clinic to ask for a second opinion.
