This reminds me of the Prada raffia tote but actually obtainable

I have been obsessing over the Prada raffia tote for months. The one with the check pattern. It is so good.

But between the price and the fact that it is sold out everywhere, it is not happening. I have made my peace with it.

Then I found this hand-woven check tote that gives me the same feelings. The pattern is similar but not identical. More subtle actually which I think I prefer.

The raffia texture is really nice. Not scratchy or cheap feeling. And the size is perfect for daily use without being overwhelming.

I am calling it my consolation prize but honestly? It might be better than the original for my actual life. Less flashy, more usable.

Sometimes the alternative becomes the favorite. Anyone else have that happen?
