Am I too late?

Married (41m) going on 10 years of marriage. I’ve recently realized I haven’t been a good listener throughout most of it. I jump to fixing things, explaining, being defensive, etc. The problem is o never knew how to truly listen, and actively have an understanding. Rather, I’d hear what was said and ‘fix it’ the best way I knew how. I admit this, and am trying to develop my listening skills. She’d asked for space. After years of not being validated, I fear my wife has had enough. I’m not trying to lose this relationship. I love her, and I love our family dynamic. Is there anything other than time and building new habits that I can try?

TL;DR I’m a horrible listener but am working on getting better. Am I too late to save this marriage?
