Redundant network architecture for 14x PowerFlex 755 — DLR vs dual star

Hi all, I'm designing the network architecture for a machine with 14x PowerFlex 755 drives (13 production + 1 hot spare) controlled by a PLC. (Rockwell) The machine is one of four, all interconnected via a dual fiber ring backbone between machines. Each machine has its own PLC, and in case of PLC failure, another machine's PLC can take over control of the drives.

My question concerns the internal network on each machine. Please excuse me in advance, as I have very little experience with Rockwell (Micro850 and not much else).

What is the best way to connect all the devices on each machine so that they are accessible to both fiber-optic rings?

Option 1 — Dual star:

- Each device connects to both switches (one port per switch)

Option 2 — DLR ring:

- Each device participates in one DLR ring, connected to both fiber rings switches.

Option 2 — Double DLR ring:

-Each device is connected to tow separete DLR ring, each ring connected to one of the fiber optic networks.

-I don't know if this is silly, since I need four Ethernet ports on each device

I'm sorry if the question is a bit vague and/or lacks some details. I'm completely overwhelmed from reading documentation, protocols, etc., and I need a little guidance.

Thanks in advance.
