It Appears That People on This Subreddit Love Google Messages and Think It’s Better, But For Those Of Us Who Prefer Samsung Messages, It's About Choice

If you think Google Messages is better, that’s fine, I’m glad it works for you. But for those of us who prefer Samsung Messages, we don’t want to be forced into using Google Messages. Android has always been about choice and customization, so we aren’t limited in the apps we can use. Whether you want to use Google Messages, Samsung Messages, or a third-party texting app (e.g. Textra), the beauty of Android is that we can choose for ourselves. If the situation were reversed and Google forced everyone to use Samsung Messages, I’d be just as pissed because it does the same thing, it takes away choice for its users. Between Google restricting third-party apps that aren’t from verified users, Samsung pushing all of its users to Google Messages and other products (e.g. OneDrive), and Google not allowing third-party access for other apps to use RCS, effectively forcing us to use Google Messages if we want RCS, Android is slowly losing what made it better than Apple, choice.
