Best Tablet for Off-Road Park Trail Riding

We are in the market for a tablet that we can load trail maps on and use, even in the worst of service positions like Rush-Off-Road park in KY. We have only went with groups who know the trails, we borrowed a friends outdated tablet before as well.

What are your recommendations? TIA.

We are Apple folk, but open to Android if it works.
