California SB 913 would expand VPP participation for solar + battery systems

California lawmakers advanced SB 913, which would expand how virtual power plants (VPPs) operate in the state.

The bill would allow solar-charged batteries and other home energy devices to receive credit for exporting electricity back to the grid — something that is currently limited.

The measure passed a Senate committee and now moves forward in the legislative process.
