What is everyone doing when migrating thin VMware VMFS SAN storage to Proxmox?

I am curious what everyone is seeing the best migration path and target storage when you have a current thin-provisioned VMware iSCSI VMFS-formatted SAN over to Proxmox. I realize that LVM-thin is not supported over iSCSI with Proxmox, but rather LVM thick is supported. What are you seeing/doing with these types of migrations in the enterprise? What choices are you making that have been successful? Gotchas?
