Knotting Hill Wedding and Events : In my opinion as Mother of the Bride, We did not have a good experience with this venue and owner. The staff was professional and accommodating and the venue is beautiful but the owner was rude to our guests and rushed us out of the venue by 9. She started taking down our decor at 7:30 while we were still chatting and enjoying the music. Contract stated that we had to clear the venue by 11. We were also given a hard time about our flower girl tossing lavender for the ceremony. Traditionally, family and friends send the bride a groom off early to start their honeymoon, we were told that if the bride left then everyone had to leave. Not to mention an ESA wasn't allowed and there were no ADA accommodations, no ramps or accessible bathrooms. My daughter's ceremony was perfect. The lack of hospitality and empathy for a tired bride was disappointing. After reading other reviews it seems like the owner was having a bad day. If that was the case, she could have had her assistant finish out the night. Christina was kind and helpful. Proceed with caution when considering doing business with Nikki Poindexter.

This is the last thing I will say about this!
No — this contract does NOT say the bride has to stay until the end of the wedding.
Here’s the clear breakdown, based only on what’s written:
What the contract does require
The event must end on time (End Time 11:00 PM)
All guests must be off the property by 12:00 AM
No guests left past 11:00 PM or there’s a $500 fine
The “Guest” (J.F) is financially and legally responsible for:
damages
cleanup
compliance with rules
Someone must ensure:
trash is removed
belongings are taken
rules are followed
What it does NOT say
❌ It does not say “the bride must remain on-site until the end”
❌ It does not say the Guest must personally be present the entire time
❌ It does not require the bride to do cleanup or walkthrough herself
❌ It does not say the bride can’t leave early
The key legal distinction
The contract uses “Guest” as the responsible party — that means legal/financial responsibility, not physical presence.
Legally, the bride can:
leave early
designate someone else (planner, coordinator, trusted adult) to:
oversee cleanup
make sure everyone exits on time
lock up / final check if required
Unless there is:
a separate venue policy
a verbal rule
or something in a “Princess Package” add-on
…the venue cannot enforce a “bride must stay until the end” rule based on this contract.
Bottom line
If someone is telling you “the bride has to stay until the end”, that is:
❗ not written here
❗ not contractually enforceable
❗ at best, a preference or house rule that isn’t documented
