Feel like local jeweler is pulling my leg
We’re choosing our wedding bands.
Our witnesses picked the jeweler and we have to respect their choice, as they’re gonna pay for the bands (we get to choose anyway)
So we went browsing at this jeweler.
They are just a reseller and not a goldsmith, but they source their wedding rings from small companies in the area (there is a lot of goldsmithing in our area)
My fiancee is partial to a very particular band which is sandblasted on the inside and mirror-polished on the outside.
I asked the jeweler if they could ask to not polish the outside of the band.
Would like mine to be completely sandblasted (i’ve never wanted a mirror-polished band)
She told me they are not selling sanded/brushed band because ***they’ll eventually mirror-polish themselves with wear***
And i was like, “oh right” but inside I was just like “do i look this guillible to you?”
What do you say guys?
Inb4: I’m completely OK with the finish wearing out irregularly. I would NOT be OK with a mirror-polished band that will collect a thousand hairline scratches.
PS: i am looking at the manufacturer’s catalog online. There are no photos. Only renderings. All the renderings are *completely* sandblasted.
My theory is they polish the outside post-production but the lady is too lazy to make a phone call, so she told me a brushed band would turn into a bloody mirror by itself.
