Do you the game and its concept are completely dead?

Will they ever maybe make another “remaster” or remake with pt 9 characters. Or maybe just fix the netcode and add them as dlc?

I just got into it and its kinda sad a game with so much potential has been abandoned, so im wondering if theres the tiniest sliver of hope here.
